Nepal Supreme Court upholds custody of Rabi Lamichhane in cooperative fraud case

🔹 Supreme Court backed Tulsipur High Court (Butwal bench) decision to send Lamichhane to judicial custody canceling the earlier district court bail order.

🔹 Lamichhane will be inremande till the final judgement of the cooperative fraud case by Rupandehi District Court. Only if the district court acquits him will he be released. 

🔹 The judicial plea demanding his immediate release was dismissed by the court upholding that the order granted for the arrest on High Court’s bail ruling a legal one. 

🔹 The case relating the cooperative is one in which there are multiple defendants accused of

 embezzlement at the Supreme Cooperative. 

Ujyaalo Nepal Party is holding its first district gathering in Chitwan today

Chitwan, Nepal — The Ujyaalo Nepal Party is holding its first district gathering in Chitwan today at a venue near the Central Bus Terminal in Bharatpur. The event is a significant milestone for the newly formed party as it expands operations at the local level ahead of the upcoming general election. 

Energy and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising, who is also the party’s key figure, has arrived in Chitwan and will deliver the chief address to party members and supporters. Alongside him, central leaders Sita Pandey, Rima Vishwakarma, and Bagmati Province coordinator Pravin Tamang are scheduled to speak.

Leaders of the party say that participants from various parts of Chitwan are attending the gathering. During today’s meeting, the party plans to form a temporary committee, which will later be formalized into an official district committee. Party leadership also intends to establish committees in all seven local levels in Chitwan, including Bharatpur Metropolitan City
